Mindless Mutant - Self Titled 7"

Hardcore/Powerviolence band featuring members of Spazz, Our Turn, and Look Back And Laugh. A super-group, if you will. The 7" is six rippin' tracks that you would expect from these dudes and two really, really fuckin' heavy instrumentals that you wouldn't expect but I definitely enjoy. Awesome record, I really can't stop listening to it.
Knuckle Scraper - Max Isn't The Bastard

This band sounds like the illegitimate love child of Spazz and Crossed Out. With the whole disk clocking in at just over five minutes, it's worth listening to at least once.

Drip, Drip, Drip....

A few recent leaks...
Originally thought the Baroness was a myspace rip. Apparently not, or at least that's what I've heard. Production is dumpy, but its encoded at 192, so who the fuck knows. Enjoy and don't tell big brother.

Update: Got ganked guys. I'll re-up when this shit cools off if you missed out.

Rippin' black metal with some heavier parts and some really rad solos. We all know there's some really shit black metal out there, so get the exceptional shit while you can.

This album has a close place to my heart. Specifically because I listened to it for the first time when I was fourteen years old and hated it. A lot. A few years later I gave it another listen and actually enjoyed it. Essentially they were a short lived German thrash/hardcore band that didn't put out all that much material. Decent stuff, the most notable track being 'Emo Kids Blown To Shit'.

Vader - Necropolis

Kind of old news I suppose, but I've been spinning this a lot lately and thought I'd share. Newest release from Polish death metal champions Vader. Despite line-up changes, this album totally shreds.
The One - I, Master

Really stupid name, really good ritualistic black metal. If you wanna get your left hand path on and invoke some serious shit, jam this out. Creepy in the best way possible.
Teen Cthulhu - Ride The Blade

Seattle based band that combined elements of hardcore and black metal. Unfortunately, this coined the fucking retarded term 'blackcore' that morons insist on using. Definitely worth the hard drive space. Do it.

Pissed Jeans - King Of Jeans

via Last.fm:

In an interview with Tony Rettman of Blastitude, Pissed Jeans’ singer described their sound and intent with the following: “The idea was to start a different kinda punk band focused on dead ended carnal cravings, sexual depression…that sort of thing. Mainly we just wanted to bludgeon the listener with dull, monotonous droning rock music that just sucks the energy out of you, the musical equivalent to watching a toilet flush.”

Pretty perfect description if I do say so myself.

Yet another sludge band from Miami, Florida. Not much else to say other than this shit is quality. Not breaking any molds, but quality.

Floor - Self Titled

Floor (member(s) of which went on to form Torche) is one of the few sludge bands that really stands out in a genre that tends to sound more or less the same. The somewhat melodic vocals and the fact that despite the fact they play sludge, which is definitely known for its ten minute epics, they generally keep their tracks beneath the four or five minute mark making them much easier to digest. How thoughtful. A must have album for any sludge metal fans. Quick side note, I'm working on tracking down a lot of the EPs these guys put out, so check back for those.

No said the dust that blunted its eyes, Yes said the rider as white as a bone.

Nick Cave - The Proposition Soundtrack

+ (LISTEN)

Haunting to say the least. Mostly instrumental, mostly awesome. Composed by Nick Cave and his long time Bad Seeds partner in crime Warren Ellis for the western film The Proposition. The music is just as bleak as the barren western landscape, whispered vocals making a few brief but appreciated appearances.

By far my favorite Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album, the most notable track being The Mercy Seat. I am highly anticipating the remastered re-issue of this album, which I will also be upping for your aural enjoyment. Keep your eyes peeled.
