I think I posted this a couple years ago, but I'm gonna repost it because the new album is coming out soon and all you dorks need to get acquainted. Short and furious just like the guys who played it.
Incantation has a sound so deep and dark it can be hard for the uninitiated to decipher. It took me a couple listens, but I think I decided this is my favorite Incantation album. This record is rougher, nastier, heavier, and just stronger than Mortal Throne of the Nazarene and has everything I love about the New York death metal sound.
This is by far my favorite Bolt Thrower album, and probably my favorite death metal album of all time. It's 1992 vintage and impossibly thick sound will make you forget there aren't any orcs with machine guns on the cover this time. Turn it up.
This band does not get enough attention. Not nearly enough. Being one of the first grindcore bands I actively listened to, they definitely made a big impact on my musical tastes today. Also of note, I hear one of the dudes in the band is no longer a dude. Makes you wonder when you consider songs like Daddy's Little Girl.
Suffocation's first EP, a true monstrosity. The mix here is FAR superior, as some of the songs were issued on later releases. I love everything this band has done, but Human Waste is 24 minutes of absolute brutality, a word that gets thrown around way too much.
Attend closely, dear reader, lest a tendril of another's shadow impede your view. You have stumbled into my internet basement. I have really stupid taste in music and I post whatever I want. The format of this blog is none of your business. It's really become more of a stream of conciousness type affair over the years, so you're just going to have to deal with it I'm afraid.
