Chest Pain
Chest Pain - Chest Pain 7" (2011)
I saw this band play with Iron Lung a couple weeks back. They were really good. Also they played very cool powerviolence from Austin, Texas. The recorded material doesn't quite live up to the unreasonable sounds they were making live, but it's still fun.

Remember when we were young and we fed our ADD (This was before ADHD was invented) by listening to blistering 20 second songs and we all had street names like Death Snake, Big Dan, Hellfire, Lil' Smurf, Twin, Nacho, Viper, Mad Dawg, Clown, Loco, or Baby Chico?

Off The Pigs
Plutocracy - Off The Pigs (2010)
Sometimes I like to relive the day that this album came out by completely forgetting it even exists for months on end only to find it in my music library later and get really excited. Fastcore's favorite wiggers, and I say that in the most complimentary way possible.
While I'm a huge sucker for the whole bay area fastcore movement, this band is a definite favorite. Might post other albums from them later on. If you're not into the whole smoke weed and A.C.A.B. thing you might not be down with this band. The use of a Trailer Park Boys sample to illustrate their disenchantment when our local law enforcement earns bonus points.

Iron Lung - Sexless//No Sex
This is the only record I listen to anymore. It's flawless. That's really all I have to say about it. It's also worth noting how many times iron lungs actually come up lyrically, it cracks me up. If you don't already have this album, stop flushing your life down the toilet and spend the rest of it listening to this.

California Love - Reaping The Whirlwind
I'm listening to this record thinking about how much I hate Ghana right now. A selfish and strictly American endeavour, I know, but I don't care. Cloudy production that definitely holds the material back a bit. Overall, an interesting record as it transitions willy-nilly from blisteringly fast to a slow and tortured crawl. Unlike other California Love efforts, they show you just how slow and nasty they can get, which in my book is a more than welcome demonstration. If you enjoy Mind Eraser you will like this record. If you enjoy Mind Eraser, stop reading my blog.

The 7" is six rippin' tracks that you would expect from these dudes and two really, really fuckin' heavy instrumentals that you wouldn't expect but I definitely enjoy. Awesome record, I really can't stop listening to it.
